The High King’s Daughter is a music video I directed at Armada Content or composer Kurt Rosenberg.

The story takes place around the year 1000, and is loosely based on the High King Biran Boru. This romantic drama follows Ruairí and the Princess, as the playful friendship of their youth blossoms into love. The High King observes the growing attraction between the two and hatches a plan to keep them apart forever.

We brought the dream team back together for this short, with Archer Dougherty as Production Designer and Celia Kaspar as Character Designer. The production was very different than what we typically do. We were really pushing the hand-crafted feel and decided to develop a new technical approach. All the shots were hand painted and then camera projected on to simple 3D geometry.  teh short ended up with a warm and inviting feel to it.
